The traditional Costume Fitting / Parent Meeting will happen in smaller groups this year for everyone’s safety. Please check the rehearsal schedule for your role for date, time and location.

Performers:

  • Be prepared to dance a little! Wear a leotard and tights
  • You will be fitted for your costume. The costume shop needs all the cast members for the scene to be available at the same time to match each performer with a specific costume prior to any necessary alterations
  • Casting decisions are made for alternating roles at this meeting, this is where you will be assigned specific performances
  • You will meet your rehearsal director and get information about what shoes and tights are required for the performances

  • One of the Artistic Team members will discuss expectations and answer questions about the production
  • You will receive the Parent Handbook. For 2021, the Parent Handbook is in the form of videos – available on the Information Directory page. This is your reference guide for Nutcracker, containing contact information, dates and deadlines, history, policies and information about merchandise, tickets and the Civic Center, as well as other pertinent information.
  • Payment of the Performance Fee (if not paid at auditions)
  • Purchase IDT Membership (if not already a member)
  • Signing a | Release of Liability Form 2021-22 (if not signed at auditions)
  • Obtain a login and initial password for Engage (Communication Procedures) (if new household to IDT)
  • Volunteer sign up (if not opted-out)
  • Finding out which shows your performer is assigned (if an alternating role)
  • Review of Rehearsal Guidelines and Rehearsal Schedules, Locations, Directors
  • Discussing any schedule conflicts with your performer’s rehearsal director
  • Information about related events, such as the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea Party
  • Find out how to purchase Nutcracker Merchandise, such as clothing and theater flowers, and Program Ads, etc.
  • Learn how to help Promote the Show and participate in the Hy-Vee Fundraiser
  • Information about the School Shows (not open to the public)
  • How to buy Tickets to the public shows
