These are clips of 8mm video of the 1975 Des Moines Civic Ballet Nutcracker. The performance was on December 21, 1975 at the C.Y. Stephens Auditorium in Ames, IA with members of the Des Moines Symphony.
In Act I, principal roles were played by: John Adams as President Silberhaus, Nadean Hamilton as Frau Silberhaus, Lisa Olauson as Clara, Floyd Bates as Fritz, John Thompson as Herr Drosselmeyer, Kristen Van Fleet, Annabel Wimer and Christine Zinger as Dolls, Janice Baker as Russian Doll.
Act II features Terri Johnson, Lisa Hamilton, Michelle Reese & Laurie Grant in Chocolate (Spanish), Barbara Kern in Coffee (Arabian), Ron Olson & Hank Adams in Russian, Keri McGowan, Laurie Gamache & Heidi Hamilton in Merlitons, Connie Stern as Madame Regnier, Eileen Thomas as Rose Queen, Dolores Lipinski as Sugar Plum Fairy and Christopher Adams as the Cavalier.
